Know Your Rights
Dealing with the stress of a collision is hard enough without trying to figure out how your accident insurance works. Here are some answers to frequently-asked questions about insurance policies.
Will the insurance company guarantee your work?
We guarantee our own work, but the insurance company does not have the legal right to guarantee a third party's work.
Who pays for repairs?
It depends on the circumstances. If you were at fault, but have comprehensive or collision insurance, the insurance company would pay the costs minus your deductible. If the other party was at fault, their insurance company should pay.
Do I have to accept the insurance company's appraisal of damage?
No. Check the "Appraisal Clause" in your policy if you have differences with their appraisal. It allows you and the insurance company to gather an opinion from an appraiser you both agree upon, or a third-party "Umpire" if you cannot agree.
Do I have the right to a rental car?
If you have purchased rental car coverage and were not responsible for the accident, you may seek reimbursement from the insurance company or, if another driver was responsible for the accident, their insurance company.
If you do not have rental car coverage and were responsible for the accident, you have no grounds to ask for reimbursement. If the other driver was liable, you can generally seek reimbursement from their insurance company.

Very happy with service
Undercar Services, near Ormond Beach, FloridaHad a front axle replaced on my 2006 toyota camry. They did a great job at a very reasonable price. Would highly recommend Tom's Automotive. Family owned and run. I finally found my go to place to take my car. A confidence and a trust. Thanks guys.
I visited Tom's Automotive a few weeks ago, based on a recommendation from a long-time customer there. I just moved to the area, so I don't know anyone here, all my tools are at my old place, and I had no way of even diagnosing my car. I came in with a wicked shimmy in the front end of a used Subaru I just bought, and being a former mechanic, I can easily list a dozen ways they could have really fattened up my bill without even raising my suspicions. If this had been a disreputable shop, this would have been a golden opportunity for them. Instead, what I got was a very reasonable bill, a thorough explanation of the options available to me, and some of the kindest, most professional service I've ever seen in the business. The car was left clean, my seat was exactly as I left it, and the car drives beautifully. I can't recommend Tom's Automotive enough, and will definitely be going back!
Ormond Beach, flThis place is great. I have taken our two cars there a couple of times over the past two years. They seem quicker, cheaper and most importantly.... The car problem gets fixed and stays fixed.
I have been going to Tom's for over 6 years and cannot say enough about the quality of their service, fair pricing and over great experience. It is a family business and they are wonderful. Sherri is extremely knowledgeable having saved time, money and unneeded work to get the job done. I feel so lucky to have found such a great place and feel more than comfortable bring my car there!
Great service, answered my questions, very reasonable prices. Whole thing is family run it seems, the guy you talk to is the guy fixing your car, and he even takes it for a little test drive so you don't end up having to come back 10 minutes after pick up. Just an honest hard-working mechanic. I will gladly drive, or tow, my car from Jax to Daytona if I ever need work done again.
